Happy Bitch Wine

I know the name can ruffle a few feathers but I really liked this wine! I even had the chance to interview one of the makers. Debbie Gioquindo has lived the corporate life, spent time in the travel industry, started drinking wine on the advice of her husbands doctor and now can proudly put her name on Happy Bitch Wines.

Debbie and I had a great call, she talked her journey and how one day she just went for the career she wanted. She was already doing travel in the wine industry and one tweet happened to create a great partnership.

I asked Debbie her advice for women who want to get into the industry and she had great suggestions.

  1. Work at a great wine shop, learn the wine and you will develop some great partnerships.
  2. Volunteer at a winery in you area, they always look for volunteers and this is yet another great way to learn.
  3. Drink wine. You need to drink wine to learn what you like! Enjoy a fun wine like Happy Bitch.

So what is Happy Bitch? I took this right from their website because I love every one of these words.

You’re the woman whose time has come. You’ve faced the elements, the days of abundant sunshine, the days of darkness, through droughts and storms and yet, although at times you wondered if you would, you survived. You’ve been crushed, yes, maybe even more than once. But you’re determined to become something greater as a result – precisely what you are designed to do. You have become your own unique blend of strength and softness. The challenges you’ve faced have made you deliciously complex. That is what you call depth of character. It is a trait to be admired and celebrated every day. Dependable? Yes. Full of surprises? Definitely. And every time you open up, you create yet another happy memory, another smile. Your very presence brings happiness to those whose lives you touch. You can run with the big boys and still hold your own. you’ll kick ass if you need to and warm hearts when you want to.

A light rose with just the perfect amount of effervescent. I will be drinking this again.
