Glossybox April 2013

Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow Hand Cream

Essie Nail Lacquer We're in it Together

Yves Rocher So Elixir Purple

Illamsqua Debonair Medium Pencil

Nip+Fab Pistachio Sundae Body Scrub

For a little while it’s been quite hit and miss with my love for Glossybox, but after major disappointment last month I’m so pleased that’s been turned upside down with this months box. The April 2013 has been a welcome change with a lovely special edition box which has been designed by Pearl Lowe in a vintage fashion. I was expecting to see the standard pink box but it was a pleasant surprise to see the flowers on a peach background. The greatest pleasure though has definitely been this months contents. Here’s what I got and what it’s worth:

Crabtree & Evelyn – Somerset Meadow Hand Therapy 25g (£14.00 for 100g) = £3.50
Essie Nail Lacquer – We’re In It Together 13.5ml (full size) = £7.99
Illamsqua – Medium Pencil 1g (full size) = £13.00
Nip+Fab – Dry Skin Fix Body Butter in Pistachio Sundae 50ml (£9.95 for 200ml) = £2.49
Yves Rocher France – So Elixir Purple Eau de Parfum 5ml (£44.00 for 50ml) = £4.40

Total value of the box = £31.38

I’m so pleased with this box because I’ve really been wanting to try Illamsqua, Nip+Fab and Yves Rocher for a while now, and I’ve only recently bought my first Essie nail polish and now I’m hooked so I’m really happy I’ve got another shade to play with. It’s such a nice pinky color too! What’s more, I’m a long-lasting fan of Crabtree & Evelyn and I have been thinking about buying one of their new hand creams for a few weeks now, so again, I’m pleased that it’s in my box.

I genuinely like every product in this box. The shade of the Illamsqua Medium Pencil (eye liner, eyebrow pencil and lip liner) is debonair which is an electric blue color which is really unusual but definitely one I’d like to try, especially coming up to summer, although possibly would have favoured a more neutral color. The Nip+Fab pistachio sundae body butter smells nice although a little sweet, and the Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow hand cream is pleasantly subtle. The only product I’m a little unsure about is the Yves Rocher So Elixir Purple eau de parfum because whilst it’s a nice smell, I do feel it’s a little too mature for me and also quite strong. I possibly would wear it once in a blue moon but I don’t think it’ll be replacing my favorite perfume any time soon!

I’m really happy with this box, but I might have chosen different colours/flavours given the choice. I still think the box is an absolute bargain for £10 plus £2.95 p+p, and you can get yours here.
