Glamglow Poutmud Fizzy Lip Exfoliating Treatment and Wet Lip Balm Duo Review

By Kwilliford @ExquisiteEczema
I have a quick confession. I splurged on this simply because of the packaging, and it was during the Sephora VIB Rouge Sale. Granted I always love trying a new lip balm because I do have drier lips, but this one seemed a bit gimmicky to me for some reason. And it was a bit pricey.

Whelp, I was wrong. Glamglow has made what I would consider one of the best lip balms and scrubs I have ever used. This is a reason this has 5 stars on Sephora and is sold out. As in not even listed on the website anymore. BRING IT BACK ASAP!!! Hopefully you can still find it in store. Okay, moving right along.
The first part to this duo is the Fizzy Lip Exfoliating Treatment, which is designed to "smooth, energize, and renew." You only need to use it once or twice week. It is that effective. It isn't harsh, abrasive, or irritating.  It just gets the job done. You apply a fairly generous among onto lips and massage it in for 5-10 seconds, then you add water. This activates it and it you will notice a light fizzy sensation. It is actually more of a tingle than a fizz. Either way, it gets the dead skin and dry patches off.  Glamglow put a ton of good stuff, so it isn't shocking that it works so well. A combination of Caribbean cane sugar, Hawaiian sea salt, and hibiscus flower powder. I don't know about you, but I am ready to go on a tropical vacation right now. They also added in sweet almond oil, guava, cherimoya, star fruit, lychee, and mangosteen. It does have a fairly strong minty smell, so if you are not a fan of mint, this will not be for you. I have used DIY scrubs at home using olive oil and sugar, but I do find this Glamglow scrub to be a lot more effective.

It sounds like it could be awful, but just stay with me here. Because it isn't sticky, it feels comfortable. It does feel a teensy bit thick, which is why I prefer to apply before going to sleep. This stuff will leave your lips feeling softer than ever before by morning. I don't know if you have ever heard of a plant called Lambs Ear (Stachys byzantina), but they will feel almost as soft as that. The ingredients that cause that wonderful hydration include olive fruit oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, castor seed oil, beeswax, spearmint leaf oil, Moroccan lava clay, and black tea ferment. Just to name a few. Even though, I love the Exfoliating Treatment, I wish they sold the Wet Lip Balm by itself.

The outer packaging is beautiful, geometric, and eye-catching. It is one of the things that drew me in. The actual products come housed in two silver spheres that get on my nerves. They show fingerprints and they are hard to take pictures of because they reflect everything.  The duo is $39 and each product contains 0.85 oz of product. The top just twists off and there is an additional plastic covering. This is not a cheap product by any means, but you do get a lot of product.

I cannot recommend this enough if you have chronically dry lips like myself. I hope Sephora brings it back soon.
I meant to have this review up a few days ago, but because I am a caretaker for my grandmother (and even my mom sometimes), my schedule can be a little erratic. I have some Holiday palettes and other new releases that I want to talk about, so I am probably going to pull an all nighter to get that done.

See you soon!
