Fitness Friday: When Workouts Don’t Happen

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

This was a week of life interrupting workouts. I was traveling for work and we had jam packed days. No time = no workouts. Such is life! I didn’t beat myself up over it or throw a fit. Instead I just went with it. As soon as I got home last night I changed into workout clothes and did 30 minutes of Insanity Max and a 21 Day Fix Extreme Leg Workout. It felt so good. An hour and fourteen minute workout the burned more than 700 calories! My plan is to workout again this afternoon before a birthday party tonight and to make sure I get Saturday and Sunday in.

I know a lot of people who would have been an emotional mess about missing workouts. Now, I was feeling a bit crabby by the end of the week (hello lack of sleep) and working out does keep me sane. After getting snippy in the car my husband knew I needed a few things:

  • Healthy meal
  • Workout
  • Sleep

And I got all of those last night! It was so nice. Another thing that made my fitness week better; new clothes! I am loving the Clymb. Hello great deals on fitness clothes, equipment and accessories. Heck they even have trips and outdoor gear. I got a new Threads 4 Thought eternity scarf that has snaps (similar to the Vinyasa scarf) and it’s so soft and cozy. I have it on today!

And new bright pink Soybu leggings. They have a great pattern and hello fun bright color. I have so many plain black ones that color is needed. (That isn’t me below, just an image from the Soybu site)

I also found an amazing deal on new snow pants. A bit late in the season but they were under $30 and it’s nice to have a second pair around and these will be great for cross country skiing next year. With such an odd winter and almost no snow I am not thinking I will be doing any skiing in March. Never say never but it is supposed to be in the 40’s and low 50’s next week. I foresee the snow quickly melting!
