Fitness Friday: Bootcamp Round 2

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

Round 2 of bootcamp and I am so excited! Perfect timing for me to rock my wedding dress and do something healthy for my mind and body. I am still incorporating my yoga workouts since they keep me sane and I have just a few things going on the next month. The number one reason I workout is to help maintain balance in my life.

This round of bootcamp Scott is participating in too (as much as he can) this week we have been heading to the gym together in the morning and enjoy the cardio and intervals and then head to the weight room to work hard. I love it! We leave feeling happy and strong.

Favorite things about bootcamp so far?

Supersets! I love going all the exercises in a workout before moving onto the 2nd set.

Cardio intervals. Wow do they kick my butt.

I have a love/hate relationship with wall squats. They seem like they wouldn’t be too hard, but wow do they work.

So excited for the next 8 weeks.

One of the things I am focusing on for cardio is changing it up. I get stuck using the same elliptical or bike and occasionally the treadmill. I was sent a copy of the book Ultimate Jump Rope Workouts. Simple workouts where all you need is a jump rope. Easy to find the time and space for these short but effective workouts. Written by 2 personal trainers, Brett and Jason. They walk you through techniques, step-by-step instructions  and many different ways to keep the jumping interesting. It had been years since I had really done any jump roping and I had forgotten how hard it is! Think back to all those times you were outside on the playground as a kid, it was a pretty good workout.

I can’t wait to keep changing up my cardio with a jump rope workout every few weeks. I feel pretty hardcore doing it

Don’t mess with me, I am stronger than I look.
