Is it just me or has Wet n Wild really been killing it lately? It seems like their collections have been on point lately. They have also been doing some pretty innovative things, at least in terms of drugstore products. I was far more excited about their spring collection than any of the others at the drugstore. Or at Sephora or Ulta for that matter. Let's talk a look at all of their new products.
First up is their new Photo Focus line. They came up with a foundation, concealer, and setting powder that helps eliminate flashback, or "particle reflection." Apparently they tested everything in 7 different kinds of lighting. I've been using these for about four days and I am pretty impressed. I love the coverage and finish of the foundation. It is a medium coverage, it doesn't look heavy or cakey, and it has more of a satin finish. The concealer is so-so. The coverage isn't the best and it does crease a little bit. I haven't tried the powder as much, so I can't really comment on how well it sets everything just yet. I will say that the texture and formula is really good. It feels like a high end powder because it is so smooth.
I will say that the foundation is probably better for those with normal to slightly dry skin. On me, it does look oily after a few hours. But that is pretty much the case with any foundation I use, even with a primer and setting powder.
Wet n Wild also released the PerfectPout Gel Lip Liners. I got three shades because they are only $2.99.You guys, these are amazing. They might not be the longest lasting liners, but they are the ONLY lip liners I have used that don't dry my lips out. They are so easy to apply and they don't tug at all. The pigment is beautiful, too. I love these so far. I have the shades Plum Together, Red the Scene, and Never Petal Down.
In addition to the gel lip liners, they have new gel lip balms. They come in different colors, but I just got the clear one to wear around the house and apply before lipstick. So far, it is pretty good. Is it anything life changing? No. But it does keep my lips from being dry.
There are a ton of new Megaglo cream sticks. They have various shades of blush and contouring sticks, plus one highlighter called When the Nude Strikes. This highlighter is a very light pearly pink. It almost doesn't have any pigment to it, but it does have a lot of shine. There are tiny pieces of silver shimmer, too. It is pretty easy to work with and it applies quickly. I've only used it twice, but I didn't notice it enhancing any of my pores and it didn't seem to break up like a lot of cream products can do on my oily skin.
Now for the cushion products, which I am not overly impressed with. The contour shade, Cafe Au Slay, is way too warm and muddy for my skin tone. It looks awful on me. Plus having a contouring cushion product isn't exactly practical. I do like the highlighter, even if it is not as intense as I hoped for. It does look gorgeous on the skin and gives a subtle glow. I have only used the lip product once. I have Melon Like It Is and it looks very dry on me. I am starting to think I got a bad one because it is really hard to squeeze out of the tube and I am under the impression that it isn't supposed to be 100% matte. I will try them out more and let you know my thoughts. Oh, and the cushion products are only available at Walgreens.
In the picture I above, I swatched the two products using my finger. In the one below, I used the cushion and patted the product onto my arm.
The Lash Renegade Mascara will sell you just on the packaging. It looks so cool! Luckily, it is pretty good as well. It gives my lashes nice length and volume without being clumpy. The only downside is that it can be a little difficult to remove.
And last but not least are the new Mega Last Catsuit Liquid Lipsticks. These are amazing. I won't say much because I have already reviewed them, but they are worth getting. You can see my review here.
So far, Wet n Wild's Spring Collection is proving to be pretty impressive. I certainly need to try some things out more, but I will do full reviews later on. Let me know which products you would like to see reviewed first!
See you soon!
