Event: Official Opening Of IDS Clinic

By Beautifulbuns

Now I seldom head out for events on Mondays cos I’m usually quite blued out from having to give up my weekend, and just trod home to sulk in bed. However, there’s no way in hell I’m missing the opening of IDS Clinic.

Before I go on, lemme throw a pinata of good news at you first – all my readers will get free consultation from now till May 30, 2014. Simply quote my blog name and voila, oh happy day!

:D

OK, SO WHAT IS IDS CLINIC?

First of all, IDS Clinic can be found at #05-07 to 10, Novena Specialist Center, 8 Sinaran Drive, Singapore 307470

IDS stands for Innovative Dermatological Solutions, and it’s opened by the famed and renowned Dr S K Tan, founding member of Derma-Rx products as well as former Medical Director of the DRx Clinic. Dr Tan is so famous that I know of another editor in the journalism industry who overhead some girls talking about him on a bus, and she was so impressed that she went to make an appointment immediately (unfortch, she had to wait a month for the next opening cos he’s that good).

Now,  the DRx Clinic -including the company that manufactures and distributes the Derma-Rx range of products- were sold to a multi-national company over 3 years ago (Kaya Ltd), and to my knowledge, recently re-sold again to another company (KV Asia Capital).

Since Dr Tan is seriously passionate about aesthetics and skincare (Grandfather of aesthetics in Singapore, anyone?), it’s my guess that he ventured out to set up something (again!), which is why there’s IDS Clinic now.

Tucked in a cosy corner is IDS Clinic! Here you see me and Maybeline – no prizes for guessing which are my legs. Don’t mock me cos beware, I can kick like a donkey hor hor hor. muahaha.

One of the very few times that staff are willing to pose for a photo – they’re so friendly and sweet! This is the type of service you’ll get as well – welcoming and friendly lurveee.

You can tell from the crowd just how great is the allure of Dr S K Tan – I’ve seldom seen so many top-notch bloggers gathered in a room. Even Yan Kay Kay was there, and I’ve attended so many blogger (and media-journalist) events and never seen her once.

WHAT DOES IDS CLINIC OFFER?

I’ll quote from the material provided: a variety of treatments such as Botox, fillers, nonsurgical thread lifts, proprietary laser programmes, Thermage, and facial yreatments specially designed by Dr Tan using special formulas brought in from around the world.  For a more complete list, visit www.idsclinic.com.

In addition, there’s the IDS Skincare range available as well, and I’m the most excited about this. I wants sponsorship to these please please please.

In essence, IDS Skincare products are an upgraded, improved and evolved version of DRx products (that’s just my opinion, don’t quote me on that!). This probably explains the “Innovative” in the IDS name. It is true that there are similarities in the products (the Pore immediately evokes images of the Comedone Formula), but I’m pretty sure it’s an improved and more efficient version.

Just next to the reception area is this hugeeee display cabinet with all the IDS products

Just look at that – it’s good skin bottled and boxed up, waiting for me. Oh, and you too.

A pharmacy-style dispensary where you’ll get your medicines/products after consultation/treatment. By the way, see those grooves in the countertop? They contain screens (tablets underneath assumably), where you’ll get all the information – IDS Clinic will have a completely paperless digital system.

The clinic looks deceptively small at first glance, but once you venture around, you’ll find that it’s actually quite big and holds many cosy nooks and cranies. Here’s what Dr Tan’s office looks like.

The C-rooms are Consultation Rooms, where you’ll learn how to apply medicine/skincare and understand your post-treatment care

The rooms are nicer than my photos depict, but I wasn’t sure if I could snap the entire room (including the medical equipment), cos I assume that it should be some trade confidentiality thang. But trust me when I say that the rooms are cosy and yet not overly clinical or detached.

Now, Dr S K Tan’s philosophy is to never go invasive unless absolutely needed, which is why he has put so much effort into creating and developing this IDS Skincare range (with his partners and overseas contacts). To share the love with you guys, I’ve photographed the entire product brochure to upload. I don’t have a scanner, so you’ll have to make do with this version. heh.

The Facial Scrub is touted by my friend who’s tried it to be superbly wonderous – it’s said to leave your skin so smooth that even water slides off it. ZOMG. Must. Try. It.

I received the C-Plus, and I’ve already started using it – the overall anti-ageing product is a lightweight clear gel which is really, REALLY quickly absorbed into your skin and leaves it feels instantly taut, with more elasticity to my skin. Woah.

Dr Tan (and anyone who knows anything about beauty) insist that sunscreen is the one thing you can’t leave home without.  Pay attention and heed the word of the expert.  I also received the Sunscreen (Non-tinted) one, and will be reviewing it soon.

I really, really, really wanna try everything on this page. First, there’s the Pore product, which I’m guessing is similar (but better) than the Comedone Formula. Then, there’s s Clear which should come in handy for my recent bout of breakouts (damn you hot weather!). And there’s Body. ooh Body Body Body. I’ve got bacne/scars/blemishes on my chest and back that multiple home scrubs have not been able to get rid of.

I also wanna try Spot – of course the interesting syringe packaging makes for an appealing factor, but it also can fix those annoying spots and helps to conceal.

I don’t have the price list for IDS Skincare the moment, but I’m guessing it’ll range from about $60ish to $200+ (again, don’t take my word for it. I’ll try to get the official price list as soon as possible!)
