After working in the media industry for so many years, I’ve come to realize one very important fact – that no one is ever punctual for an event.
After making my foray into blogging and having to start all over again as a social wallflower where I barely know anyone, I’ve also come to realize another important fact – that most bloggers are usually punctual for an event.
Thankfully, I’ve always been one of the more punctual journalists, so I didn’t have to make much change to my lifestyle. In fact, I actually like turning up on time, cos it gives me ample space to take photos without having to worry about people’s shadows, or people waiting behind me to take photos. Plus, it takes away the angst that always boils up inside me when I think “zomg my youth is flying away every minute I wait for the latecomers”
Last week I was all aplomb and full of myself as I sauntered my way down (at 3.45pm) to the Ma Cherie / Majolica event which I thought was starting at 4pm. 15 minutes should be sufficient for me to snap my photos and snag a good seat, right?
Taking my own sweet time to snap shots of the welcoming decor even.. but wait, what’s that hustle and bustle I hear from inside the room?HOLY MOTHER OF DAMNALOTOFPEOPLE. WHAT EES DEEES?Turns out the event started at 3pm. FML. I’d missed the entire presentation, but the PR ladies were so gracious in telling me that it’s ok, that all the information was available in the press kit. -sheepish face- Damn you, bad memory of mine.
Anyhoos, I was apparently just in time for the activities, which was seriously quite fun – kinda like a beauty carnival thang. Here’s what went on.
I was handed a tarot card (with my face too!), which I had to slot into the Mystery Magic Machine, a hugeee black box. Very mysterious indeed…. hmmm..After you drop the card into the top slot… A PRODUCT MAGICALLY COMES OUT (with someone’s hand pushing it) lolol. The Mysterious Magic Box analyses your hair woes based on the tarot card, and dispenses a product suitable for you. I got a Hair Gelee (for soft waves – can’t wait to try it out!)
The next activity that I tried – being an amateur Peeping Jane and trying to look through keyholes to count the number of newly-launched Majolica Lash Expander Edge Meister F and The Little Humming Book II (eyeshadow booklet ) inside. I’m night blind, so yeahhhh obviously I didn’t win. haha. -sore loser mode on-New friends to look out for in Watsons! I’ll try the mascara soon and letchew know how good it is!The next activity : memory scrabble crossword – basically you have to memorise a list of words and then scramble for scrabble tiles to complete the words before the other team. Too much stress, too little time, I passed on this. heh.Alethea gamely trying on pink eyes – me, I was just too embarrassed about le oily skin and le oxidised makeup to let anyone touch it. muahaha.Look! Don’t you see a hot chick? No, I’m not talking about this one in black (as hawt as she is). Look really, really, carefully….… ta-dah! The hawt chick is me! I’m hung out to (leave men high and) dry on the clothesline. hurhurhurThe new additions to the existing Ma Cherie familyMore info on the new Ma Cherie products Since I’m heading over to see Daniel Henney tonight at the Charles & Keith event, perhaps I should try on my Hair Jelee – it might make the man go jelly in the knees, no no no?
