Sometimes, I think there’s a hidden leap zodiac year in the Chinese calendar – there has to be a Year of The Vain Squirrel, and I was definitely born in it. That would be the best explanation for my compulsive makeup shopping and hoarding (yes yes, justifications excuses galore, I know. heh)
I first came upon this Etude House Tear Eye Liner set at their Princess Etoinette Launch, and that was last year. I then visited Korea for my quarterly pilgrimage and bought both sets since I couldn’t decide which one would enhance my overwhelming beauty better. heh

A soft tipped brush liner – note how the eyeliner clumps around the brush stem.

I say…
I love that Etude House has such awesome products at such affordable prices – there’s really no way anyone could say no to a set of two eyeliners for KRW10,000. Take my moneyyyyy take it take it!
- The eyeliners are surprisingly good – the brush tip is fine and easy to manouveure. Even beginners (or early morning locomotor-challenged people like me) will not find it difficult to draw a smooth line.
- The colour intensity is consistent. Apply 1 coat and you’ll get a nice line. Apply 2, and you’ll get a rich dark-coloured line. In fact, there’s not much difference between the brown and the black.
- It doesn’t flake and it doesn’t smudge. What’s more, it has pretty decent staying power
- At the end of the day, it actually takes 10% more effort to remove (I usually just press a cleansing tissue to my face and wipe everything off. For this one, I need to press the tissue for 5 seconds).
- For the glitter eyeliners, the shimmers are relatively fine.
- I prefer the Charming Veil (the pinkish one) – it’s more natural for an everyday-look. Upon closer inspection, the shimmers are silver, pink, green and a touch of yellow, kinda like Legally Mermaid.
- Of course, the Veil Tear (pearly shimmer) is great for night usage with its pearly sheen. Comparatively, I prefer the CLIO Glitter Eyeliner, which really makes your eyes pop – it’s realllyyyy sparkly, kinda like Swarovski sparkle. The Veil Tear is more of Mikimoto sparkle.
Overall, this is a great set that’s affordable and easy-to-use. Buy it, buy it, buy it~
