I don't believe in spending an arm and a leg on hair products. I don't mind splurging here and there on some of my trusted natural hair favorites, however I sometimes tend to be a little heavy handed and before I know it I'm staring at the bottom of the jar. Over time, this can weigh heavily on my pockets. Going natural doesn't mean you have to go broke, alternatives are available and if with just a little patience you can find out what works best for your hair without having to require a budget for your hair products.
When I need to find a quick, low-cost alternative to some of my more costly hair preferences, Dr. Miracle's Curl Care Soft Hold Creme ranks highly on my list. Surprisingly, the creme proves to be a pretty decent selection and for less than $10 for the twelve-ounce bottle, my pockets couldn't be happier.
When searching for an inexpensive hair product alternative, my standards are the same as if I were purchasing a more expensive product, the only difference is that I may be compromising some of the higher quality ingredients for some of the lower end ingredients.
Despite the massive ingredient list, Dr. Miracle's Curl Creme does not contain any sulfates, parabens, sodium or phthalate. It includes several beneficial ingredients such as wheat protein, jojoba seed oil, coconut oil, Aloe leaf juice and panthenol however, it also contains a few products that naturals tend to avoid such as mineral oil and petrolatum.
I don't have a problem using products that contain mineral oil but what I have found is that when I do use them, they tend to build-up on my hair after several days. I can use Dr. Miracle's Curl Creme to twist my hair for a maximum of four consecutive days before my hair starts to feel like product overload, becoming stringy and somewhat oily.
"Hold your style with a formula perfected to individually define and hold curls. Aloe-infused to soften and improve elasticity, this creme is perfect for styling two-strand twists or other natural styles." Dr. Miracle's website.
Dr. Miracle's Soft Hold Creme has a very unique and distinctive fragrance that is similar to a mint-orange menthol scent. The mint is the more dominant scent and is definitely distinctive, but the scent isn't overpowering and doesn't linger, as it disappears shortly after the product has completely dried.
Using Dr. Miracle's Curl Creme kept my hair hydrated, soft and moisturized for the most of the day. One gripe that I have with this product is that it sometimes seems to make my hair (and forehead) a little greasy. I believe this can be attributed to my tendency to be a little heavy-handed, so keep in mind that only a little is needed to achieve great results.
Overall, Dr. Miracle's Soft Hold Curl Creme did exactly what it promised to do, kept my hair soft, defined, shiny and stretched throughout the day. I'm pretty much pleased with the performance of the product and I would recommend it to anyone suffering from extremely dry or dull hair, and may be in need of an inexpensive styling product.
