Dove Intense Repair All Day Repair Cream

By Beautifulbuns

Thanks to all who came down for my flea market last Saturday :D Sorry that alot of the good stuff were gone – our luggage and bags were raped by the overly-eager mostly-pinoy audience. I have never ever seen anyone so excited to spend money – I guess I now know how the staff in Korea feel whenever I go on my shopping sprees lol.

Today’s review will be simple and sweet cos I am completely depleted and drained of all energy at this moment, what with the non-stop coughing / flu (the bug is going around, everyone please be careful!), and the time of the month, and the being overwhelmed by hundreds of very excited customers – I tell you, the pinoys can put kiasu Singaporeans to shame any day.  Come, I clap for you. lol.

I say…

Well clearly you can see the results for yourself… most unfortunately, it’s not superbly impressive (and yes, I did apply quite an amount to try to tame the hair madness).

  • First, let’s talk about packaging – it’s pretty fuss-free and I like the twist-nozzle delivery system.
  • The cream is also quite lightweight, so even though there may be remnants on the nozzle, it doesn’t quite turn into that gross cakey lump of dried-out product (you know what I mean). It’s kinda like nose boogers, but maybe it’s more product booger.
  • Of course, since it’s lightweight, it also doesn’t weigh down the hair much and makes it feel light and airy.
  • I love the smell – totally brings me back to the old school days where Dove was first introduced as a premium haircare brand (I know right, hard for me to believe it too).
  • It gives some shine to the hair and some form of health.
  • It does feel smoother and softer after application (even if it doesn’t look it) – my hair has this problem of looking like hay whenever it lightens to this colour.
  • The Repair Cream doesn’t quite help to control the flyaway frizz – but note that the bottom portion of my hair (where the colour differs) has been permed and therefore quite badly damaged. If you check out the hair portion near my neck (where it hasn’t been permed), it looks distinctively healthier and silkier.

Overall, I would say that this works well on hair that hasn’t been excessively treated with chemicals – but then again, it’ll take a miracle to tame a twice-permed and multi-dyed mane of hair. For those with mane-monsters like mine, try the Ecoclinic Multi Therapy Hair Treatment. Meanwhile, it’s time to test out the other products in the range.
