The first is that it is absolutely not full coverage. I would say it is medium coverage. It does do a great job of covering up general redness and discolorations, but it doesn't do much in the way of covering up blemishes. I will say that it does look and feel very lightweight. It has a natural finish, meaning that it doesn't look too dewy or too matte. It stays on fairly well, but I do notice that it tends to break up a bit around my nose or chin. So basically anywhere I tend to get very, very oily. If you have oily skin, be sure to use a mattifying primer and set the foundation well to make it last all day.
No foundation, foundation only, and full face. I didn't use any bronzer with this and you can see how it got darker between applying the foundation and the rest of my makeup.
The foundation also blends really easily and it isn't difficult to work with. The biggest issue I have with this foundation is the shade range and the fact that it oxidizes. If you are my skin tone, you can get away with wearing ivory, even though it does turn a little orange. Even though this happens, I can get away with wearing it as long as I don't carry it too far down my neck. I did that as an experiment and it wasn't cute. If you are any more fair than I am, you won't be able to wear this unless you use some kind of shade adjusting drops.
In the above collage, the last picture was taken without flash. I think that shows how much it actually does oxidize after a few minutes. The flash washes it out a little bit.
Flashback is also a slight problem. I know for a fact that this foundation does not look as pale in person as it does in the above pictures. Of course when a foundation has an SPF in it, you run the risk of flashback. Since I don't plan on wearing this for special occasions, I appreciate the added sun protection as well the vitamins E, B3, and B6. I'm not sure if they are actually doing anything, but I always like when a brand throws in some extra nourishment.
The final major talking point is the scent. Some people seem to find it off putting and unpleasant. While there is a chemical type of scent, I don't find it to be that much of an issue. In fact, if I am not actually thinking about the scent, I don't notice it at all. I have gotten used to it over time because I do remember it being a lot stronger when I first used it. Bottom line, if you are sensitive to fragrance, you might find this foundation difficult to use.
The final takeaway is that this isn't a bad foundation. It isn't a favorite of mine by any means, but I do like using it sometimes. Again, be mindful of that fact that it already runs dark and it oxidizes. It probably isn't the best for oily skin, but I find that if I use a good primer and setting powder, I don't have a major issue with it separating or looking too greasy.
I hope you found this review helpful! I have a few more affordable foundations I will be reviewing in the coming weeks that I really like.
