I saw this on Pinterest today and wanted to share it. Many people are familiar with America’s Test Kitchen and Cooks Country shows (and magazines). Starting TODAY – through September 5th they will be hosting online cooking competitions, give a ways, free recipes, and virtual garden, livestock and dairy shows!
I live in Chicago, so I will not be attending any county fairs, so it’s nice to be able to have an on-line version!!!
Every Thursday they will feature a down home recipe – this week it’s Blue Ribbon Apple Cake
You can also make things and post them on their facebook page, tweet them, pin them or leave a comment to win a cookbook!

I have been able to get lots of back issues of Cook’s Country Magazine at my local thrift stores (Brown Elephant & The Economy Shop) for .50 cents an issue. If you aren’t that lucky – getting a subscription is worth it, they test and re-test every recipe – so it always turns out the way it should – no guessing!
Have you ever been to a county fair, or entered a county fair cooking contest?? It would be so much fun to do that!
