Charles Worthington is a premium brand, and this 150ml can of dry shampoo will set you back £5.99, but is it worth it?

I’ve mainly been using Batiste dry shampoo and the Lush No Drought dry shampoo every other day, and both work reasonably well in keeping my hair looking fresh. I wanted to see if a more upmarket brand could deliver better, fresher and longer-lasting results.

I was surprised to find the Charles Worthington Front Row dry shampoo actually didn’t perform as well as its cheaper alternatives. It was slightly sticky which made my hair look even more greasy. It didn’t look as bad after I rubbed it in, but my hair didn’t look fresh or volumised; instead it looked limp and lifeless. I also felt it was unable to keep grease at bay for more than a few hours, and it didn’t look good when I resprayed my hair throughout the day.

The worst part of the dry shampoo was the horrid chemically smell it produced. It was making me cough badly in the confines of my small bathroom. Despite this, I liked that the spray was clear – there’s no white dust residue which looks like dandruff, and it doesn’t need to be combed out. Popping out to the shops I felt less self-conscious that I’d accidentally left a patch of white hair, but I was aware of the cloud of bad smell lingering around my hair.

For £5.99 I don’t think this Charles Worthington dry shampoo is worth the money. There are cheaper brands which do a better job, in my opinion.
