During the summer of my senior year in college, I finished my last six credit hours of French while studying abroad in Blois, France. Many of the friends I made while living in Blois expressed how necessary it was for them to finish atleast part of their program in the United States in addition to working internships in the United States—something that is much easier said than done.
One friend in particular, Alexandra, was studying business and engineering.
She spoke Spanish, French and English, and her dream was to work for an international company, but she knew—because of competition and lack of opportunities—that she’d need to finish her studies in the United States in order to start the career she wanted.
Many of the other students I met would’ve liked to study in America, too, but didn’t know how or what materials they’d need.
Whether you’re starting to look at colleges as an undergraduate or you’re deciding on the best school to earn your master’s degree, an American education can help you hone your leadership skills and prepare you for a healthy career after graduation.
Women especially can benefit from studying in the United States, where educational opportunities and career choices are not as limited for them as they are in some parts of the world.
Here are more reasons why most students study business in the United States:
Choose from a variety of business majors
Business majors in the U.S. aren’t limited to just finance or accounting; students can focus on international business, marketing, information systems and entrepreneurship, to name a few.
Arguably, the most desirable business degree for international students is international business.
With business dealings continually becoming more globalized, the need for business majors to be well-versed in communicating with an international audience is increasing.
As an international business student learning U.S. and global business practices, you’ll be a valuable asset whether you decide to find employment in the United States or in your home country.
Attend some of the best business schools
A big draw for international students to come to the United States is that some of the best business schools in the world are there. U.S. News’ list of the best business schools ranked Harvard and Stanford Universities both as the number-one business school, with the University of Pennsylvania ranked third.
