Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Rose: Product Review

By Makemeupmandy @mandywebb28
My most common lip product in my stash would have to be a tinted lip balm. I tend to have dry lips and that fact combined with having an active toddler who likes getting in my face {literally} causes me to stay away from lipsticks on a regular basis.
I was more than happy to try out another tinted lip balm - the Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm. I got to try out the Tinted Lip Balm in Rose and as a seasoned Burt's Bees fan, I have to say I had rather high expectations.
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Rose: Product Review
Formula-wise, I didn't really detect any difference from the original Burt's Bees lip balm. They are 100% natural and very hydrating.
The Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm come in 9 shades - with Petunia, Sweet Violet, Blush Orchird and Caramel Daisy being the recent releases. I'm not sure if it's the same for all but the one I tried has a beautiful sweet Rose scent which I do like. The color is also beautiful. I would describe it as a very pretty blush red.
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Rose: Product Review
This lip balm provides a sheer tint that is... really quite sheer. I did find that I couldn't really build up the intensity of the color. Case in point, the left swatch is a single swatch while the right swatch, I went over a few times and couldn't get a deeper tint. I did find that the tint didn't last as long as the other tinted lip balms I have tried. Probably 2 hours tops and I found that the red tint was pretty much gone.
Having said that though, I really enjoy the formula of this one. It feels nourishing yet very lightweight, in the sense that I don't actually feel like I have a layer on my lips as with many other lip products. I guess it would be great for a quick dash of color for a short trip down to the shops; just not for a full day out unless reapplying regularly is not a problem. The color is very pretty in my opinion so... decisions, decisions.
I do wonder if the longevity of the color has to do with the red since red is stronger color and perhaps, more unforgiving? Given that I'm a huge Burt's Bees fan, I think I'll still give a different shade a go!
Have you tried the Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balms?
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm retails for $14.95.
