In just a few days we want from fall to winter. It wasn’t a nice gentle transition, we had one heck of a storm yesterday. A mix of snow and freezing rain which made the roads quite treacherous. Sigh. Winter is here to stay unfortunately. With the impending storm I knew the dogs would need a much longer walk than normal to tire them out. We still go for walks in the cold/snow but they are much shorter!
Sunday morning was in the low 30’s and I pulled out all the layers and my hiking boots. Not cold enough for the big fuzzy boots but perfect for my Ahnu Montara Boots.

With boots, leggings, a sports bra, a base layer, light zip up and then the thinnest winter coat I own. And a hat of course, don’t want those ears getting cold. The dogs were jumping all around so excited to go on their long walk and I barely got their leashes on them. Just look at their smiling, happy faces. I just want to snuggle them all the time.

We walked down the road and did about 4 miles. Tanner and Clifford were really tired by the end of the walk. As soon as the leashes were off they headed right to our living room and plopped down on the couch. I think they were napping in seconds. If this snow is here to stay I know we will need a few longer walks with them and thankfully these Ahnu boots are perfect for those “warmer” winter days. They are leather, waterproof and with a good pair of hiking socks they keep my feet dry and warm. These are so incredibly comfortable too! If you are in the market for a pair of hiking boots I highly recommend them.
