Another long trip to Sydney it was again yesterday! This time it was for the Bloggers BBQ and our whole family was invited. I absolutely love these events that Kids Business organizes; they are so family oriented and children-friendly. Think fun activities to occupy kids - checked! Think convenient parking - checked! Free babysitting {for a previous event} - checked! And whole family including partner/spouse/friend and kids invited this time - How much better can it get for mums like us with family commitments who still want to enjoy events like that?
We were treated to gift bags and a lot of information and demonstrations from the brands that were present. I got my brows done at the Nads booth, saw a facial mask demonstration of the Essenzza Japanese Facial Treatment Mask at Fuss Free Facials, kids got to enjoy their Gastrolyte jellies and juice, I got to marvel at how light and awesome the new Dyson is... so much going on, I tell ya!
One of our highlights for the day was watching the not-so-baby Buby get her first ever face paint. My big girl loves getting her face painted {what better way to indulge in her love for animals than to actually be one} and we have been trying to get the not-so-baby Buby's face painted for a long time now but she has refused every single time. Yesterday though, she requested for it after watching her big sister and this culminated in a series of very funny and memorable expressions.
Despite her cringing expressions, she actually sat very still and never protested or tried to hop off! Thanks to the very talented face painting artist whom I was having a good ol' chat with about all the different brushes she had. She had a couple of MAC brushes in her collection too - very exciting stuff lol.
My big girl chose to be a bunny rabbit and that has got to be the cutest bunny rabbit face paint work! She eventually {accidentally} rubbed the bunny teeth off over the course of the day. Also, look at the impressive turtle balloon!
The kiddos also had fun at the Nintendo booth {No, the little one didn't know what she was doing at all. She just wanted a turn like all the other kids and very nice of the Nintendo people to indulge in her request}, lining up for balloons by the Balloon artist, having a ball in the ball pit... I would definitely say they had a fruitful day!
How mature does she look here?? {my heart is screaming 'Noooooooooo'} Big girl about to turn 2 soon. Just unbelievable how quick time flies.
Ally enjoying turkey meatballs from Steggles. I'd have to try out some turkey recipes soon - she absolutely loved the taste of them!
We also got our hair done at the Remington booth. How funny after I got curls in my straight hair, Ally asked if she could straighten her hair instead of curling as she already has natural waves through her hair. Talk about grass being greener on the other side! We also thought her straight-faced expression was funny - guess she was wary about the heat from the iron.
Never ones to let a long trip to Sydney to go waste, we also went around the city, picked up a couple of new lenses for our camera {hopefully that, in conjunction with more practice/knowledge on our part, means better photos}. We also paid Blacktown a visit and drove past our old house there. It was nice reminiscing about our early days in Sydney. We have moved 4 times in the last 3 years to different cities and states and even lived in a different country for a period - it is always heart warming thinking about how far we have come, how hard we have worked and obstacles overcome to get to a more comfortable place in our lives today.
Big thank you to the lovely Christie and her cosy team of wonderful girls {hi Stephianie, if you're reading this!} at Kids Business for organizing the event!
