Birchbox April 2013

Very excited to open up my first ever Birchbox. Want to know what’s inside?

Birchbox April 2013 Contents

Mirenesse Glossy Lips

Natio Gentle Foaming Facial Wash

Weleda Skin Food

Gerda Spillmann Renaissance Age Serum

La Societe Parisenne de Savons

Birchbox Mirror

This is the first time I’ve tried Birchbox because, quite frankly, some of their previous boxes have looked rubbish, but I’m actually quite pleased that this is my first box. It cost me £10.00 plus £2.95 p+p.

So here’s what I got and what my box is worth:

- Mirenesse – Glossy Kiss (full size = £17.50, 4ml sample = £23.33)
- Natio – Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser (full size = 6.80, 20ml = £1.36)
- Weleda – Skin Food (full size = £8.95, 10ml = £1.19)
- Gerda Spillmann – Renaissance Age Serum Anti-Aging Serum (full size = £69.00, 3ml sample = £6.90)
- La Société Parisenne de Savons – Savon a L’Eau de Cologne (full size = £8.50)
- Birchbox – Paname Parise Mirror (full size = £7.50)

Total box value: £48.78

I’m amazed that my box is worth so much! It’s got a nice array of posh-looking products, although on first impression I don’t think I’ll be using them all. The anti-aging serum for example – I’m in my early 20s! The Natio Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser also smells a little bit too ‘mature’, as does the La Société Parisenne de Savons – Savon a L’Eau de Cologne (soap). However the latter would look lovely in a posh bathroom, so may be worth keeping for my first home!

I really like the Mirenesse Glossy Kiss. It’s in a bright red shade and I don’t usually wear lipsticks, but it’s a nice balance between traditional lipsticks and chubby sticks. The Weleda Skin Food is designed for dry rough skin so I’ll be trying it on my feet. Oh, and it’s endorsed by Victoria Beckham which is certainly interesting. The accompanying booklet is informative and I like how it has general information and tips about beauty trends for SS2013. I also like the brown box with the small pink bag inside. It just makes it feel more special.

So overall I’d say I’m pleased with the mix of the box, but I don’t love it. There are products I won’t use, but there are some I’m eager to give a go. Personally I would have liked some more make up though!
