I’m no stranger to Benefit products. I’m a huge fan of them, and I was very impressed with Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash mascara although I felt it lacked a little something. Does They’re Real cover the gap that Bad Gal doesn’t?
Unlike Benefit’s Bad Gal mascara, They’re Real is a step up in every way. Gone is the large oversized bristle brush wand which has been replaced by a sleeker plastic comb wand which is ideal for accuracy and for building exceptional length. Better yet the plastic comb separates lashes easily giving a much fuller and less clumpy finish. The slightly dry and thicker consistency of Bad Gal has been replaced with They’re Real’s runnier and wetter liquid which helps to provide a much more even coating to lashes in a much quicker time. This mascara is not one that needs to be built up; the volume and lengthening is immediate whilst the effort taken is minimal. And it lasts all day. I’m definitely impressed with this mascara.
As you can see from the image above the side of the packet comes with some impressive statistics and with an image of a bare eye and one where They’re Real has been used. Although on first impression the image may look unrealistic and Photoshopped, I can tell you the result is completely accurate. I’m not one to wear false lashes (because I’m lazy and don’t like the idea of glue so close to my eyes) so having a mascara which gives such striking volume without looking like a spider is sitting on my eye lids is ideal.
This mascara is great on the go and I’ve got 2 travel sized versions of it, both priced at around £9.50. The full size is £19.50 which is certainly rather expensive but it’s worth it. I’ve not experienced a high street brand which can give the same result as this one, or even come close, and even some designer ones can’t compete. This is one mascara I wouldn’t hesitate to buy in the future – although I probably would be tempted to buy it from Boots to get lots of points on my advantage card! Team it up with Bad Gal first for volume and They’re Real for the added length and separation and you will find that no one can resist your eyes!
