Breaking out the crockpot yet again. This time for Beef Stroganoff. Something I hadn’t ever made or even had in years. I think I had forgotten how good this classic is. Especially when you put all the ingredients in a crock pot and head off for your day. Can I kiss whomever invented the crockpot?
Served over egg noodles and with a piece of beer bread on the side. This meal feels very much like a Midwestern meal.
Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients (Serves 6)
- 2 lbs beef stew meat or cubes
- 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 1 cup water
- 1 packet Crock Pot Beef Stroganoff Seasoning
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream, Greek Yogurt or Plain Kefir
- 1 cup water
Instructions
In a large measuring cup add 1 cup water and the seasoning packet, stir to combine.
Add beef, mushrooms and onion to a crock pot. Pour water and seasoning mixture over and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
Stir in yogurt or kefir and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
Serve over noodles (like egg noodles or a thicker style of noodle)
