Summary:
Just before Christmas I found a brand in Superdrug I had never seen before. It’s called B and they seem to have most of the make up basics; nail polishes, liquid foundations, skincare and pressed powders. Their ranges are still quite limited but I reckon they will be around a while. See what I thought of the B Set Sheer Finish Pressed Powder.
As you can see from the picture I’ve already used quite a lot of this powder. However it’s also worth noting that this is 6 months worth of use! The handy compact conveniently comes with a mirror, although sadly no puff or sponge applicator. I’ve been using a powder brush to apply it and it goes on smoothly and doesn’t cake the skin. Instantly mattifying, this powder soaks up any excess grease on your skin to give an even and silky coverage. With Vitamin E, this powder not only feels soft on the skin, but actually softens the skin too.
Once on the skin it doesn’t mask too much, which for me is a plus point because I like being able to see some of my natural skin marks such as freckles. I just think it looks more natural that way. I would avoid using it on broken skin because it actually accentuates skin perfections, and also on wrinkled or uneven skin.
Like most high street pressed powders, B. Set Sheer Finish lasts for a couple of hours before needing to be reapplied. However seeing as it’s twice as expensive as Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder I would have expected better and smoother results, but it’s actually not quite as good. There are better ones out there for those with oily skin like mine, but this is a good base if you want a pressed powder which is relatively inexpensive but will also last a few months. It costs £7.99 and you can buy it from Superdrug. Currently the range is a third off which makes it quite good value for money, although it is quite average and some cheaper brands are better.
