AutismOne is Overwhelming

By Matthewspuzzle @matthewspuzzle
Martha Herbert and me! I just recently got back from the AutismOne conference in Chicago. First and foremost, I would urge you to attend next year. I was sure there wasn’t much in autism research out there, but once I attended AutismOne, I realized I was completely wrong! The number of topics, roughly 174 lectures, was overwhelming and it took me several tries to decide which topics I wanted to see and which I was willing to miss! I started out my time at AutismOne by listening to one of the Featured Speakers, Sandor Ellix Katz. He is the author of Wild Fermentation and he was discussing Fermentation Basics. I was thrilled to be able to listen to Mr. Katz as I enjoy fermenting foods but I’m a bit of a novice. I loved being able to ask questions and taste some of this master’s ferments. I then moved on to Mayer Eisenstein’s More Vitamin D, No Vaccines, Virtually No Autism lecture. This was a fascinating lecture full of information and a lot of encouragement to get your child’s vitamin D levels checked and elevated if necessary. As we have been having a lot of behavior issues recently, I selected Nicole Beurkens’. How to Set Limits Without Losing Your Mind: Behavior Strategies That Make Life Easier. Followed by Jeff Bradstreet’s Exciting New Developments and Discoveries to Help Autism. This was a well attended lecture where Dr. Bradstreet and one of his clients discussed GcMAF which has been shown to be helpful in bringing many children closer to recovery. One of my personal favorites was David Geslak and The Power of Exercise: Effective Programming for Individuals with Autism. I wish David was a teacher in our school district. He has a way of breaking down each exercise so that it is more understandable to our children. I tried to listen to Nobel Prize winner Luc Montagnier, but he was over my head. So I opted for Nancy Mullan and A Hidden Cause for the Symptoms of ASD and How To Treat It where I learned about Helicobacter pylori, a bacteria that can live in the gut and cause many ASD issues. I also loved Biotoxins and Autism presented by Georgia Davis. I had to attend The Biological Basis of Autism: Causation and Treatment presented by the Drs. Geier. One of the most interesting sessions I attended was presented by Raun Kaufman, a man who used to be autistic. He presented information on the Son-Rise program. Three of the most powerful sessions were given by Martha Herbert, Anat Baniel and Kerri Rivera. Martha Herbert and Anat Baniel presented information on The Anat Baniel method and Kerri Rivera presented a lecture called 38 Children Recovered in 20 Months. This was truly a well attended lecture! I popped in and out of several other lectures and of course attended the Key Note Adress by Jenny McCarthy. And I finally got to listen to Andrew Wakefield’s presentation. All in all it was an amazing conference. I will gladly attend AutismOne again. I am still trying to process all the information I was given and I’ll be sure to get some of this info back to you! Stay Well!!!
