Saturday afternoon was spent prepping for our family dinner. We meet up with our parents once a month and we rotate houses {in case I haven't mentioned that before}. This month it was our turn to host. The theme was appetizers and alcohol. We had SO much food! More than ever before, I'm sure. I made antipasto skewers. I did not eat these because I am not a fan of olives. But I did snack on some of the ingredients while making them.
My mother-in-law made taco cups with all the fixings.
I also made turkey meatballs with grape jelly and barbecue sauce. Did I say I made them? I meant the crock pot made them.
My mother-in-law also made a salad.
She makes the poppy seed dressing from scratch and it's delicious!
My brother-in-law's girlfriend made stuffed mushrooms. I'm pretty sure my husband requested these.
My dad made mini taquitos.
My husband made pulled pork sliders on Hawaiian rolls. I also made {not pictured} bacon and cheese covered tater tots. I was planning on making skewers out of them but I ran out of time.
He also made watermelon jello shots. These were non-alcoholic for our niece.
And these were the ones with vodka. They became stronger as the night went on.
This was the first time our families met Jaxon. I think he made a good first impression. Vader was the wild child, like always.
