8 Ways to Use Apple Cider Vinegar in your Natural Hair & Beauty Routine
Apple cider vinegar isn't just a kitchen staple, but its also highly beneficial to use in your beauty and natural hair regimen. It has a wide variety of uses and because of its antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties, it can be used as an all-natural cure to various hair and skin ailments.
Below are eight ways that you can use apple cider vinegar in your hair and beauty routine:

1. Skin Healing Bath
Skin that is dry or damaged, such as skin burn or eczema can benefit from adding apple cider vinegar to lukewarm bath water. Apple cider vinegar has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe and soften the skin, and ultimately helping to remove dead skin cells.
2. Freshen Breath
Apple cider vinegar also has the power to eliminate offensive mouth odors. Try mixing 2 tbsp of vinegar with 1tbsp of salt in a cup of warm lemon water. This simple rinse will help eliminate strong odors such as garlic and onions from the breath.
3. Prevent Acne
Vinegar helps to balance your skin's natural pH level and can be used as an astringent to treat oily skin. Use one part water to one part vinegar and smooth over problem areas with a cotton ball. The vinegar "toner" can be used on the face daily, allowing its anti-fungal properties to work effectively.
4. Prevent & Treat Dandruff
The acidity level in Apple Cider vinegar will help to kill the bacteria that causes dandruff and eliminate an oily scalp. A simple vinegar rinse after shampooing with a sulfate-free shampoo will help rid the scalp of dandruff.
5. Clarify the Scalp & Soften Hair
Apple Cider vinegar is efficient in removing dirt, product build-up and residue from the hair strands. It also closes the cuticle of the hair, resulting in smoother, softer hair and less frizz. Try using an apple cider vinegar herbal rinse after shampooing for fresher, cleaner hair.
6. Cleanse Hair Tools
At least once a month, hair combs and brushes should be cleansed thoroughly to avoid bacteria and nasty gunk in your hair tools from building up. Apple cider vinegar and its antibacterial and anti-fungal abilities is perfect for eliminating dirt and loosening any trapped in in your brushes. Add one cup of apple cider vinegar, dash of baking soda (optional) and a few drops of lavender to a sink full of water, submerge hair tools for at least 20 minutes, removing any trapped hair. Rinse and allow your hair tools to dry thoroughly before using.
7. Treat Hair Loss & Breakage
In some cases, Apple Cider Vinegar is used to combat hair loss and even treat hair loss disorders such as Alopecia Areata. Although there is no concrete evidence to support this claim, many herbalists and holistic doctors have credited apple cider vinegar to a natural way in aiding the regrowth of hair loss resulting from scalp diseases and disorders.
8. Treat an Itching Scalp
Its a no-brainier that the anti-fungal and antibacterial properties would be highly beneficial in eliminating an itchy scalp. Itchy scalp can stem from product build-up, dry scalp, oily scalp or even scalp disorders. Apple cider vinegar is perfect for aiding in all of the above and will refresh the scalp, leaving it free from build-up and free from the itching.
