5 Indoor Plants that Purify the Air

They are our allies. They absorb many substances and toxic compounds that are suspended in the environment and give a green and cheerful touch to the house. This is our list!

In the eighties, the United States Space Agency (NASA) studied different indoor plants that served to purify the air in space facilities. They discovered many smart plants, which filter out the most common volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

These VOCs are gases that cause respiratory symptoms, allergies, headaches, and eye irritation, in addition to altering the liver, kidneys, nervous and hormonal systems (endocrine disruptors) and even promote cancer. A house full of varied plants improves the quality of the air and makes it much healthier

This precious shrub is used to fight against formaldehyde and ammonia. In fact, there are studies that show that having an azalea at home helps concentration. It is a good option to improve the indoor air in basements and, of course, in any office due to its lively colors.

We like the direct sun, neither the drafts. It is better to place it in a bright and cool place. The azaleas should be watered in abundance, especially in the flowering season, taking care not to wet the flowers and that they have good drainage so that their roots do not rot. And be careful:  lime water can damage the plant.
