So the dust has settled, the excitement of being on holiday is over and this blog beckons me once again! I did have a couple more posts scheduled to be published when I was on holiday but I must have set the date/time wrongly as it never did publish. I also had sparse internet connection to fix that problem and I’ll be honest here, I did really enjoy shutting off from laptop-staring and social media for a bit.
A quick, fun post to start me on my way again, I have answered 10 random questions for Norlin from Baubles, Bubbles & Bags and Katy from Katy Potaty who both nominated me for a Liebster Award. Yay! Thanks so much lovely ladies for the nomination! I know it’s cheating but I have taken the liberty of picking 5 questions from each lady to answer instead of answering a total of 20 questions.
1. Name the most memorable event in your life.
In all honesty, first thought that came into my head was giving birth. Sounds cliche but it was very memorable (and not entirely in a positive way). The sheer miracle of birth… and the memory of that pain shall stay with me always, enough said!
2. Which pair of shoes has been your best buy ever? “Best” could mean anything from it being a bargain, best design, best fit, best…whatever really.
My husband recently bought me a pair of boots in Japan. We saw it, I tried it but I didn’t think I would wear it often plus I couldn’t justify the price. My husband bought it anyway and wow, I have never worn a more comfortable pair of boots, especially for how high it is!
3. Are you an early riser or a late nighter?
Definitely a late nighter. I have pulled crazy 4am ‘nights’ before with work previously. It’s crazy but I think I function better in the peace and quiet of the night.
4. If you were given a choice between pants or skirts, which would you wear daily?
Definitely skirts. I typically wear dresses or skirts only. I have an unexplained adverseness to pants – a grand total of 3 pairs of jeans currently sit in my wardrobe. I did wear work pants when I was working full time but that was the only time I went near them. For me, skirts/dresses just feel more comfortable (no offence to pants lovers).
5. Do you prefer savoury or sweet?
I have a sweet tooth. Candy floss, ice cream, chocolates, oreo cookies…. toss them my way and I’ll be your friend!
6. If you were to write the story of your life, what might be the title?
Since I have moved a lot… probably something along the lines of travelling or being a little nomadic. That’s all I can offer at the moment – I’m really bad at coming up with titles!
7. What’s a nickname you’ve had or one that you would give yourself?
My husband used to refer to me as “the pocket rocket” because he says I’m very fiesty for how tiny I am.
8. What was your favourite book when you were a kid?
Hmm. Can’t remember a specific one but I read lots of Enid Blytons and Goosebumps!!
9. What’s your fantasy job?
Working on a cruise ship as a singer/performer. That was totally my gap year fantasy that never happened :/ I ended up getting married and having kids instead!
10. Who is somebody you admire and why?
Somebody whom I really admire is none other than my husband. My husband and I come from entirely different backgrounds (family/academic/work etc). He left home at the age of 15, was homeless at one point, had a difficult upbringing… in comparison, I have had a completely sheltered life growing up. I could not imagine having to go through everything he did but what I really admire about him is through it all, he has kept a positive outlook, kept the faith and boy, this man is a true hardworker. I admire his work ethic and his persistence.
