You Go Girl! ~ Reading Wednesday

By Laura @BEBookworm

Wednesday is New Comic Book Day and today I picked up three issues featuring some kickass women. You go girl!

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl (2015) #2

SquirrelGirl2

The second issue of SG wasn’t as solid for me as the first one. Not a whole lot happens, other than SG has a crush and finds out Galactus is heading to earth. No butt-kicking in this issue. We do, however, get to see her awesome Iron Squirrel suit. AT least it looks like we’ll get some fighting in the start of issue #3.

Ms. Marvel (2014) #11

You Go Girl

First off, I love the cover of this issue since it features Ms. Marvel just sitting on a roof, eating a cupcake. Second, I loved this issue because a) the art is great. I love the page with Ms. Marvel shrunk down, in the gears, b) Kamala is just darn likeable! c) I think it pretty much ties of The Inventor storyline so I’m looking forward to what’s next. Looks like the next issue with a V-Day one and will feature Loki. Sounds good to me!

Lady Killer #2

LadyKiller2

I’m really enjoying this new original series from Dark Horse. It follows Josie Schuller, a loving wife, a doting mother, an efficient assassin. This issue shows us Josie dealing with the sexist attitudes of the time (mid century) and the profession (contract killer).

Next week, I’m looking forward to picking up The Empty #1 from Image. Looks good!
