A cool new invention by Harvard and MIT researchers is a tattoo showing levels of blood glucose by changing colors.
Sounds like science fiction? Arguably - but here's how it works:
New Atlas: Color-changing tattoos monitor blood glucose at a glanceThe inks interact with the body's interstitial fluid, which transfers nutrients into cells and carries waste out of them. The fluid works closely with blood plasma, meaning it acts as a decent indicator of the chemical concentrations in the blood at a given time.
