Probably not, he's too dim to realize what a devastating blow he has just taken to his political standing by losing such a major vote in the Commons. And it is merely the latest, if largest, punch he has taken recently. His ridiculous High Speed Train scheme which will take Londoners to Birmingham 15 minutes quicker assuming, of course, that they want to go in the first place, let alone onwards and upwards to Manchester - dread thought! - has been shot to pieces by industry chiefs for whom it was intended. His Chancellor is throwing petrol on the flames of a housing bubble which will need to be pricked - painfully - just as we start towards the election. His Foreign Minister, William Hague, who has led Dave up the warpath is obviously unfit for purpose and my guess is that he will be sacked to save Dave's skin. Meanwhile the full pain of people having to pay through the nose for windmills because they cannot produce enough energy to make them profitable will be the looming scandal over the fairly immediate future leading up to the election, particularly as several Tory grandees are making fortunes from the rip off. The Tory party conference in October might prove to be more interesting than usual, and you know what they say about living in interesting times!
