Wigwam on Abbey Street

WIGWAM1

Who knew you could fit so much inside a wigwam?

The Bodytonic crew closed the Twisted Pepper doors on Abbey Street, Dublin 1, earlier this year, only to have it reincarnate into a more grown-up and more spacious venue, complete with roof garden.

I paid my first visit since they reopened the doors at the end of November.  While the coffee thankfully hasn’t changed in quality, the warmth and ambiance of the new decor and open dining area have only served to make it taste that much better.  The red speakers and giant disco ball salvaged from Twisted Pepper are also a nice touch. Wigwam is familiar but fresh.

Brunch/lunch is served up daily from 11am, by Brazilian chef Pedro Feraz.  You can have your hair cut in The Boxcutter Barbershop.  Or you can just enjoy the simple things like a perfectly brewed coffee by Vice Coffee Inc. who have returned to their rightful place on the ground floor.  There are all sorts of events on in the basement (fancy some reggae yoga?), weekly socials, and late nights on Friday and Saturday.
