Schaeuble and Merkel are the best 'hard cop, soft cop' duo on the European stage. According to Open Europe (via Zero Hedge) the Greek Prime minister has been sent home with barely a fig leaf to cover his nudity. At least now I know why he never wears a tie - there is a danger that the Greek voters will hang him with it when they discover that he has achieved virtually nothing.
It is only fair to point to A E-P in The Telegraph who indicates the exact opposite of Open Europe. However, A E-P seems to be taking his lead from what the Greek PM said at his press conference. Why he would believe a Greek politician beats me!
Meanwhile, James Forsyth at The Coffee House says, in effect, that it was a 'score draw' but they have only reached half-time and the match resumes in four months time. Whether you should bet on the result in euros or drachmas he does not vouchsafe!
In the meantime, the Greeks appearing to have let us all down, we can only paraphrase Claudius in Hamlet - 'Hazlo, España' - 'Do it, Spain!'
