As a wedding planner, you probably love Pinterest and use it to collect wedding planning inspiration. It’s also a great place to give brides a sense of your style and help them to get to know you better so they’ll want to hire you.
Recently PostPlanner, the company that helps people with social media marketing (I’m not affiliated with them), posted an article with tips on how to attract more followers.
Here are 5 of their best, easy-to-use tips along with examples on how you can use them to attract more brides to become followers and, eventually, clients:
1) Find or create your own content
Most wedding planners just repin other people’s pins which is a great way to fill your boards. But, in order to stand out from the crowd, you need to pin fresh content as well.
For example, pin blog posts you’ve written, pin photos from the weddings that you’ve plan, create and pin simple wedding planning checklists, photos and articles from the bridal blogs and wedding websites that you’ve visited and inspirational quotes that might help a bride stay calm during her wedding planning.
2) Add your unique view when you repin
Don’t just quickly repin images you like, add descriptions, comments and your opinions so brides get a sense of who you are.
3) Use keywords when writing descriptions
Think about the words your brides would use when searching Pinterest for wedding ideas and use those same words in your descriptions.
4) Link Pinterest to your social media sites
Your Pinterest business account will allow you to link to your website or blog and your Facebook, Twitter and Google+ accounts so take advantage of this feature to help brides find out more about you and learn how they can benefit from your services.
5) Link your website and/or blog to Pinterest
Add Pinterest buttons to your sites so brides can pin your content and add a “Follow Me on Pinterest” button so they can easily follow you when they like what they see on your site.
