Wear Motherhood Well with Native Wilds

By Slowdownandsavor

I have a pretty incredible family, you guys. It is full of women with serious creativity, playful ingenuity, and amazing vision. Couple these traits with hard work and you’ve got some women who are not only extremely capable, but women who are actually DOING something about their vision.

My cousin Susanna is an amazing mother of two beautiful babies born 14 months apart. She became more and more aware that there were products missing from the market that she simply needed for both herself and for her lovelies. She was fed up, but instead of just accepting the fact that the things she yearned for weren’t available, she took the reins. She decided to fill those gaps with her own two hands. So instead of just getting through sleepless nights, she used that precious time as brainstorming sessions, bringing her idea to life.

Native Wilds was born not long after my babes. I quickly learned as a busy mama of two littles, that at the end of a long day filled with glorious moments mixed with the mundane of endless dirty diapers and dishes, I needed to find a place where I could retreat and reconnect with myself. I realized it was not a place I needed to go, or more things I needed to do, it was about giving myself a moment of stillness to live in what makes me come alive. Creating with the purpose of empowering women is my space to breathe. It’s my oxygen and what makes my heart beat fast. Native Wilds is a perfect blend of those two passions. As mothers, I think it’s so important to be renewed and fulfilled in our passions whatever they may be, so that we are loving and parenting out of that overflow.”

I SO agree that it is just beyond important that as mothers we not lose ourselves in the daily routines, as in my case, of waking up, packing a lunch, laying out clothes, waking the little one up, making breakfast, driving to school, doing laundry, cleaning the house, doing dishes, etc. It’s essential that we are renewed and fulfilled in our passions, whatever they may be.

Luckily, Susanna’s passions of exploring and creating landed her where she is today, in a brand new adventure called Native Wilds. So moms, and expectant moms, get ready for this. Native Wilds baby and nursing gear will be your newest and greatest necessity. And addiction. I swear.

Being that Baby Jack is only 60-something days away from making his grand debut, I’m at that phase where I can’t quit researching and looking at all the things I’m going to be needing for him, as well as staying busy registering for my baby shower. There’s so much stuff out there, you guys, and I really hope that I can get my hands on an amazing tuxedo tee-shirt onesie that I saw. C’mon. That’s just too amazing to pass up? Right? RIGHT?

But there were things that I really couldn’t stand, like the nursing covers that looked like scratchy and bulky adult-sized bibs. They were so ugly, covered in strange patterns, and colors that I just couldn’t deal with. They were, well, depressing. I was also concerned about keeping Baby Jack warm and cozy while he slept without a blanket, and some of the options out there outside of footie pajamas were just… they just didn’t look comfortable for the little one.

Anyway, when Susanna showed me her Etsy site, and the items she was creating for moms and babies, I practically squealed with excitement. She was making BEAUTIFUL and practical nursing covers that doubled as infinity scarves. They come in a whole range of colors and patterns, and I was in love. I became mesmerized.

Whether you nourish your baby by breast or bottle, these luxuriously soft and breathable bamboo infinite covers allow you to have the function you need to feed them in a cozy and familiar environment wherever you are, but without having to sacrifice your personal style!” AMEN!

There are endless ways to wear it while you’re out with your babe, so you don’t have to stuff another thing into your diaper bag! They are perfect for breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding or just adding a stylish accessory to your everyday look!

“Generously sized, it can be folded to become a changing pad, or used as a cozy stroller blanket. The stretchy fabric moves with your baby while also staying securely on your shoulders. It’s the go-to accessory for pregnant mamas too!”

Amazing. Available in coral (whoop whoop!), blue, gray stripe or taupe stripe, these scarves are amazing. AND SO SOFT. They’re hand-made from premium, 100% bamboo jersey is perfect for baby’s sensitive skin. It is naturally antimicrobial, hypoallergenic, more breathable than cotton, and temperature regulating. The stretchy fabric moves with your baby while also staying securely on your shoulders. Smart, right?

Another smart product she’s putting out in her Native Wilds store is the Infant Bamboo Pull Up Sleep Sack. It’s basically a wearable baby blanket that will keep your baby warm, cozy and safe while he sleeps.

“[It] be worn from 0-12 months! It makes the perfect swaddle pulled up over the arms because the baby cannot break free when they experience moro’s reflex. It’s just the right amount of resistance to keep them snug and asleep! As they start to move or roll, lower the sack to waist high, and know your baby is warm and safe in this super functional wearable blanket.

“The innovative and functional designs move with your baby and allow their hips to relax into the recommended ‘frog leg’ position when they are sleeping. The knotted bottom keeps baby’s feet warm and makes 2 am diaper changes a breeze!”

Like the infinity nursing scarf, the sleep sacks are made using premium, luxuriously soft, 100% bamboo jersey, perfect for baby’s sensitive skin. Love. It. I love how classic, simple and clean the sack is, and how easy it looks to use. I mean, it’s literally a sack.

In addition to these two winners, the store has long sleeved baby gowns and knotted sleeveless baby gowns. And her collection will only continue to grow.

Being the lucky girl that I am, Susanna sent me the coral scarf and the white sleep sack as a gift for Baby Jack’s impending arrival! First of all, HOW CUTE IS THIS PACKAGING?!

It just made me smile so big when I pulled it from the shipping envelope.

The first thing I pulled out from the bundle was the beautiful color scarf. I’m more than pretty obsessed as well as impressed with the scarf. Not only does it look good, the sheer size of it when unfolded is amazing. It’s perfect for its purpose, and it’s flawless for my personal look. I can’t wait to use it with Baby Jack! Until then, don’t be surprised if you see me sporting it to keep cozy in this cooler weather we are experiencing.

The sleep sack is also really cool. I’d never seen anything like it before, but I am excited to see my sweet little sleepy baby boy in it. It’s SO SOFT and I’m thinking about requesting one be made in my size… Please?

Anyway, I love these products, and I can’t wait to put them to use! So to all the mommas out there, I urge you to go check out Native Wilds for your little babes. The prices are reasonable, and the quality is tangible. I can’t wait to grow my Native Wilds collection.
