Hey There,

Wow, it feels like ages since I have done a skincare post. And as Vitamin mad as I am, I can’t wait to fill you all in, on how I got on with these two Vitamin C,  indulgent products.  I will start by telling you why I was so intrigued to try them out…

As regular readers, you will know how much I love Vitamin rich products. So it may not come as much of a surprise, as to why I opted for Vitamin C based skincare.

Vitamin C, is a super antioxidant, keeping us looking younger for longer, (Yes, I am mad about aging to) but it also protects and hydrates our skin. I initially went looking for Vitamin C based products, as I wanted to brighten up my complexion, and enhance my fresh faced look. I remember seeing the Body Shops, Vitamin C Microdermabrasion, in my mums beauty bag a while back, having good faith in my mums ability to ONLY choose decent skincare products, I went and brought this one straight away. And just like any other beauty mad person, I then spent probably the most part of an hour, ooh-ing and arr-ing over the beauty counters in boots, before making my Super Facialist discovery. Once I had purchased both products, I was ready to fully indulge my face in Vitamin C.

So twice a week, I scrubbed my face, freeing my skin from unwanted dead skin cells, hoping to reveal more radiant skin…And I was not disappointed!

OK, so my face wasn’t transformed in to this flawless beauty, (I think we all hope and wish for that), but my skin tone improved, diminishing some blemish marks, and leaving a softer surface, which allowed my make up to sit more effortlessly on my skin.

The word ‘microdermabrasion’, may be a bit off’ putting for some people, but fear not, this product is far from the type of microdermabrasion treatments you find in salons, or dermatologist clinics. As you can see from the picture above, the product is made up of crushed garnet stones, they are micro in size, and therefore very gentle on the skin, (Remember, you don’t have to make your skin red raw to get the benefits of a scrub, just use gentle circular movements and let the product do the work).

The Body shop has put this product in the ‘not suitable for sensitive skin’ category, but I have had no problems since using it, (And my skin can be very sensitive when it wants to be). The only downfall with this product, is that it doesn’t smell very nice, well to me it doesn’t, you might like it!

Lets move on to my Vitamin C+, Super Facialist, by Una Brennan, Skin Defence, daily moisturiser, (What a mouthful)…

This on the other hand, smells incredible, (Sometimes, I put more on just for the smell)! This of course I used daily, being recommended by Una Brennan, to use everyday for at least 3 weeks. I was overly excited to use this product, not only was it a brand I was using for the first time, but I was easily taken in by all the  protection and antioxidant wording, (If you are a lover of skincare, like me, you’ll understand…and not think I’m crazy).

So the Vitamin C+ Day moisturiser, promises to protect your skin against UVA and UVB, as well as hydrate and smooth the skins surface. A perfect complimentary product to the Body Shops Vitamin C Microdermabrasion, (Don’t you agree?).

The moisturiser is lightweight in its consistency, however thick enough to feel like its working deep in to the skin. I often find some day moisturisers to be too runny, (I prefer a rich formula) and this was something in the middle. I was able to benefit from both products, but no, my skin is still not perfect, (As if it ever will be). I would be happy to go back to either product, making room for both in my beauty bag.

The Body Shops Vitamin C Microdermabrasion retails at £13.00.

Super Facialist, By Una Brennan, Vitamic C +, Skin Defence, Daily Moisturiser, retails at £11.33.

HAVE YOU TRIED ANY OF THESE PRODUCTS?

WHAT ARE YOUR GO TO SKIN BOOSTING PRODUCTS?

Have a fabulous weekend.

Lots of Love,

KB xx
