Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette Review and Swatches

By Urhappybunnie @joaniebunnie
Finally got my hands on Urban Decay's Holiday palette which is the Vice 2. I was so excited when I saw this released and I have been wanting it.

The box it came in is so pretty that I didn't want to throw it out but I'm not the one to keep my palettes in their original box packaging so I eventually threw it out after I took pictures of it.

The palette's packaging itself is gorgeous and I love this packaging out of all the Urban Decay palettes I have. I did a review on the Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette and that palette's packaging was so beautiful but the Vice 2 blew it out of proportions just because it's convenient and practical. The Urban Decay logo is Jeweled and it adds such a glamorous touch to this palette.

The case is very sturdy and it has a button on which you push to open the palette. The best thing about it is that when the lid pops up, the mirror (which is huge) on the inside of the palette stands erect and doesn't lie back that makes it really easy to just rest the palette on a table and you can go ahead and apply your makeup.

The palette comes with a dual ended brush, one is great for packing on color and the other side a fluffy crease brush that is great for blending.
There is a wide array of colors; from neutrals, to smokey eyes, and to fun party eye looks that will help you transform your looks from day to night. The shadows included in this palette are 20 new shades from Urban Decay. Urban Decay eyeshadows are one of the best in the market with it's high pigmentation and buttery soft texture that is so easy to blend out.

Smokeout (dark taupey-black satin), Lovesick (black matte w/iridescent micro-glitter - this reminds me of Blackout but with glitter on it), Shellshock (bright metallic silver - this actually gives you some fallouts so watch out for it), Coax (medium metallic pink w/golden iridescent micro-sparkle), X-Rated (baby pink satin - it is very similar to Tainted)

Prank (deep navy matte w/turquoise floating pearl - great over a black or navy base), Madness (bright metallic blue shimmer w/blue micro-glitter - this actually reminds me of Deep End however this leans more on the blue side), Strike (antique gold shimmer w/silver micro-glitter - very similar to Half-Baked but is more yellow gold), Stash (deep olive green shimmer w/iridescent micro-sparkle), Poison (charcoal satin w/iridescent micro-sparkle - this is like a darker version of Creep)

Radar (metallic brown shimmer w/iridescent micro-glitter), Damaged (bright metallic emerald shimmer), Voodoo (metallic purple shimmer w/iridescent purple micro-glitter), Betrayal (bright purple satin w/blue shift - very similar to Half Truth but is more purple), Derailed (medium metallic taupey-brown shimmer - this looks more taupe on the eyes)

Dope (warm champagne satin), Toxic (metallic copper-pink shimmer w/tonal micro-glitter - I feel like this is a combination of Chopper and Toasted), Habit (light nude matte - a bit pink for me), Ambush (metallic brown satin - a rich warm brown) and Rewind (medium brown matte - perfect blending shade).
There are only two matte shades in this palette but I actually think it works quite well since the mattes included is a highlight color and a blending color which is great when you're working on a shimmery lid color.
I have no complaints with this palette. It is wonderful and a great holiday palette. This retails for $59 and is a good value for the quality. Remember, you get 20 eyeshadows in this one amazing palette.
I hope you like this review on the Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette. It's not really a long and in-depth review but hopefully you find it useful.
Always stay pretty!
