Hello! I'm Terri of
BLACK+GREY, and I'm really happy I was invited to do a guest post for
UrHappyBunnie. I'm a 20-something-year-old living in Vancouver, Canada, and I'm
still trying to transition into a career that is both exciting and meaningful
to me. Since a young age, I've been interested in design and photography, as
well as reading and writing. More recently, I am revisiting my curiosity in
cosmetics and beauty products.
I don't have a particular routine for putting makeup on. If it's not too early,
I like to have my music turned up so I could hear it in the bathroom from my
living room. I'll put on a Songza playlist, usually from the Brand New Music
category, or whatever I'm in the mood for at the time. Sometimes, I wonder if
the music I listen to while I get ready influences what I decide to do with my
makeup, too.
For years, I was a foundation and tinted lip balm kind of girl. I went through
phases of eyeliner, too, which I applied in various ways. It wasn't until my early
20's that I began to branch out and explore different products while refining
my everyday look. Even though I can still get away with just BB cream and a
little mascara for the summer time, I prefer to apply a full face of makeup
when the weather gets colder.
My
"everyday" look varies, depending on which products I reach out for.
Generally, it revolves around neutral tones and very subtle color. My
day-to-day is quite casual at the moment, so my makeup is low-key enough for
running errands or meeting up with a friend for coffee, etc.
After thoroughly
cleansing my face in the morning, I gently pat on a light daytime moisturizer
all over my face before applying my makeup. I like experimenting with both
Western and Asian brands of skin care and cosmetics.
For my FOTD, I used the following products:
1. Lioele - Dollish Veil Vita BB Cream in Natural Green
2. Maybelline -
Instant Age Rewind Concealer in 215 Fair/Light
3. Etude House - Proof 10 Eye Primer
4. Missha - M Super Extreme Waterproof Eyeliner
5. Shara Shara - Black Fit Grow Mascara
6. Etude House - Color My Brows in No. 1 (Rich Brown)
7. Make Up For Ever - Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in Mat 1
8. 3 Concept Eyes - One Color Shadow (Luster) in Honeymoon
9. NARS - Single Eye Shadow in Cyprus
10. Sephora Collection - Colorful Eyeshadow in No. 48 Faux Fur Jacket
11. Innisfree - Mineral Blusher in No. 5 Inspiring Apricot Light Coral
12. Canmake - Marshmallow Finish Powder Foundation in Matte Ochre
I believe that being
able to rock a versatile everyday look is ideal because it's appropriate for
any occasion, and that's especially easy for me to achieve since I like to use
a fairly neutral palette. However, if I had to pare down my routine to just one beauty product, it would have to be a
moisturizing BB cream that has just enough natural coverage and
skin-improvement benefits. And lip balm.
That pretty much
wraps up my FOTD. I'd like to extend a big thank you to Joanne of UrHappyBunnie
for inviting me to do this guest post. I enjoy reading her blog so much, so
this has been an absolute pleasure. Thanks, Joanne!
