Update on Mackinac Race Capsize

News reports today have clarified the situation aboard the sailboat WingNuts when it capsized during the Mackinac Race Sunday. We now know that the sailors had done everything they could at the time: they'd dropped sails and all were tethered to the boat. The freakish gusts over 65 mph and 6-foot seas flipped the sailboat over plunging the mast into the water. I apologize for speculating about yesterday's news reports and implying that these sailors might have done anything less than correct. We know now that obviously they did not. My condolences to the family and friends of the two who lost their lives in this tragic accident.
