Freaky 5 of the day

It’s safe to say that making fruit and veg look badass is a pretty tough task that in most cases is not even worth undertaking.

Despite this though we’re pretty glad that the Paris-based Russian artist Dimitri Tsykalov has embraced the challenge, who knew a watermelon (the friendliest of fruits) could look so menacing?

Utilizing nothing more than a black background, some rudimental tools and a small collection of cabbages, aubergines, apples and cauliflowers to name just a few, Tsykalov chips away to create eerie depictions of human skulls like the leftover’s of a sociopathic artistry dinner event.

The results seen below are pretty wonderful:
