Tried and Tested Hair Masks

By Amandainneverland @amandajtweets
I used to dye my hair so many different colours in school. Every month I'd think to myself "Hmm, I want a change." and it was always a dramatic change! As you can probably already guess, it turned my hair into an absolute frizzed up mess!
I stopped dying my hair, I laid off heat products, but still nothing worked. Until I discovered hair masks. Oh, I'm so in love with them. And on my last trip to the hair dressers my stylist was shocked at the almost over night improvement of my hair.
I credit it all to hair masks! If you've never used one before, you definitley should start, it's like giving you hair a huge drink of water every week. Plus it's a nice little pamering treat! :)
So I thought I'd quickly review my collection of hair masks for you.
Tried and tested hair masks
The first one I tried out was this one called 'H'suan wen hua' from Lush:

Yeah, I have no idea how to pronounce it either...
This made my hair gorgeous and shiny. It became really soft too. I used this once a week for 6 weeks, due to me having longish hair I got through two cartons to finish the 6 weeks treatment. I love Lush products due to all of their ingredients being natrual, so from the start that was a big bonus for me.
The only downside is the smell... Oh my god, the smell. Unfortunately, the smell of this product is probably the reason I wouldn't repurchase this product a third time. Although, my mom loves the scent. So if you're unsure I'd ask at your local Lush if you can smell this mask first, because the smell does linger in your hair for a couple of days afer you rinse it out. I found myself constantly spraying perfume to the ends of my hair to mask the smell...
Osmo Intensive Deep Repair Mask:

I picked this baby up on a whim, it was on sale at the counter at my local Sally's, and I was advised to get this product by the sales assistant as I was asking for advice on bleaching my ends. You put this mask on towel dry hair after you've shampooed and conditioned as normal. Leave for 3 - 5 minutes or 7 - 10 depending on how damanged your hair is, and then rinse out.
I've got to say, I had absolutely no expectations for this product and only brought it because it was advised and it was on sale. I have never known anything that works on my hair as well as this. I can't even begin to explain to you how soft and silky and managable this makes my hair. Love love LOVE. We're in love.
This was only 100ml travel size that you can grab for a bargain price of £2.52 at Feel Unique. They also stock the full sized bottle, which I shall definitely be perchasing as soon as my current hair mask has run out.
Also, unlike the Lush one I tried, this smelled AMAZING. It's also subtle, so it doesn't linger in your hair after rinsing. But it smells like shea butter and flowers and just yumminess! :)
Herbal Essences Split End Protection Intensive Mask:

I picked this one up as it seemed to be on sale everywhere at the time and my Osmo one was running out, (as you can see it is now fully empty...) I really like the smell of this one, but that's probably because it smells of raspberries. And I LOVE raspberries!
It's also nice has a nice creamy texture. It's slightly runnier than the other two I've tried, but goes on my hair really smoothly. And it's pink! Always a bonus...
I've also noticed that I have been getting fewer and fewer split ends, I'm not too sure if it's due to this product or me just looking after my hair, but it's definitely doing something good to it.
I do really like this product, however I think when this has run out, I'll go back to my Osmo, as I'm completely sold on it! And I think once you've found one of thos can't-live-without-products you should stick to them. :)
Hope you enjoyed reading my reviews, let me know if you've tried any of these, or any other hair mask treatment.
