I firstly just want to say thank you to every single person who has subscribed to my blog and made me feel such a big part of the blogging community. I value all of my followers and although in "blog terms", my blog is only very small - 100+ people following it is a very big deal for me, and in one way I feel like I'm abandoning and dismissing you all for deleting this blog. That is not my intention, so I just wanted to clarify that I have loved writing this blog and have sat down and read every single comment, and appreciated every kind word said about me and my blog, you people are whats made the whole experience so much fun.
Personally, I feel that I have "out-grown" this blog. I think when I started it off I lacked inspiration as to what to write about, and naturally being on a Media degree we are encouraged regularly to start blogging. "It doesn't matter what you write about. Just write something! Anything!" Due to the fact that there is a lot of beauty, fashion and lifestyle blogs out there, and it seemed like such a wonderful community, and I knew a couple of friends who were doing the same thing - I naturally gravitated towards it.
And it has been a wonderful experience - it really has. But this whole blog doesn't seem very 'me' anymore. I stopped buying women's magazines recently, it was not a conscious decision, but it was because I felt it promoted the ideology of "you're not good enough. But if you buy this... you will be!" And I didn't want my own blog to paint the same image. Due to lack of inspiration of what to write about, I wrote product reviews, purely because I was using them everyday, and it was a sure fire way to get content for my blog. I don't want any of my readers thinking that I'm trying to use this blog to encourage them to buy products and promote companies and attract PR agencies into gifting me free things.
And please don't think I'm looking down on anyone who uses their blog for that, if you do that's your decision and if you're happy, than I am too! But unfortunately this just doesn't seem 'me' anymore. And due to this particular blog being so structured due to longing to fit in to a blogging community, the topics I want to write about now just wouldn't 'fit' on this blog.
I will be starting up another blog very soon for anybody who is interested, I've already planned some posts, and I will link it in a separate post on here once I have set it all up. I just want to say thanks again for all of the people I have met through this blog, I feel that I have made some great friends, and you are all such loving and supportive people, and I am very sad to be leaving.
This blog will be deleted in the next week or so. Thanks to everyone who has ever read a post, commented and offered me lovely words of encouragement. I really do appreciate it.
