Yeesh, it’s been a while since I posted. Truth is, I got totally swallowed up by 3 midterms in one week and then the boyf came to visit for reading week. He’s gone now, and I’m no longer wiped out from trying to become a doctor. I have a little breathing space to catch up on my blogging, reading, studying and general overall being… until next week when the mayhem starts up again.
While my guy was here visiting, we took a little road trip getaway for a night. We ventured to Huron County and feasted our eyes on Ontario’s Lake Huron.
The whole trip was wonderful and charming… until the highways were shut down due to a snowstorm. We were driving on said highways while they were in the midst of being shut down. If you have never driven on a highway in such a state, it’s like driving through a wall of white, hence the appropriately coined term whiteout. It’s terrifying, and on more than one occasion, I thought we were about to die.
I wish I could be more witty and eloquent right now, but my mind has been too absorbed by binocular vision defects and public health equations. There is nothing about this that squeezes out my creative juices. It is what it is.
We were unable to make our reservation at the cozy inn I had booked in Port Albert so we had to make some last minute resos where we were stranded in Goderich. Everything ended up working out in the end, and I think the major snow pommeling the coast took made for a much more dramatic drive the next day.

With so much charm and quaintness so near, I’m already itching to get back. The winter box is ticked, summer… here I come.
