300+ runners from 18 countries made it to the start line today at the TransRockies Run 2017. The 11th edition of this 6 day 120 mile stage run started in Main Street in Buena Vista, Colorado and finished at Beaver Creek - a 20 mile stage. Weather forecast called a high of 75 degrees and partly sunny skies. Runners will gain 2500ft of elevation gain during stage 1.
48 men 74 women started the solo division - there are a few categories of race:- Solo: Open Men, Open Women, 50+ Men, 50+ Women Team: 100+ Open, 80+ Mixed, 80+ Men, 80+ Women, Open Mixed, Open Women, Open Men *80+ and 100+ is combined age of teammates.
Here are the top solo runners positions after stage 1. Devon Yanko leads the women and Max King leads the men.
