Why is MOANA green?

♥ All products reviewed in this post are Certified Organic with AsureQuality.

♥ The ingredients used in Moana skincare (grown & manufactured in New Zealand) are devoid of any modern synthetic inputs i.e no pesticides or chemical fertilisers.

♥ Environmentally-friendly consciousness and practice.

Sustainably harvested: The Kawakawa tree, Mamaku black fern, Kowhai tree, Harakeke Seed Oil (New Zealand Flax) & New Zealand red seaweed are the ingredients present in Moana Skincare products.

♥ Moana focuses on providing long lasting hydration, regeneration and protection. The key ingredient, Glycoplus®, is a naturally processed New Zealand red seaweed which works as a carrier and can naturally diffuse into your skin.

What it does (as it claims):

It helps re-vitalises your skin, while triggering your cell's own glycans to maintain and improve hydration, nourishment and regeneration. It helps achieve luminosity, hydration, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.

Why red seaweed?

Hydrate: Strengthen your skin's barrier function, aiding you in the fight against water-loss. Nourish: By promoting collagen production, and by facilitating the absorption of proteins, vitamins and minerals into your skin, marine glycans support cellular regeneration. Detoxify: Due to diet and environmental pollution, your skin can appear aged and dull. Moana combats free radical damage effectively assisting your skin's natural detoxification process. Transport: Glycans play a crucial role in facilitating the absorption of essential oils and other precious nutrients deep into your skin. Serum Jeunesse Intense

How to use: Apply a few drops of Moana Serum onto your skin and tap it gently with your finger tips especially around your eyes. After the Moana Serum you should moisturise immediately to ensure the best hydration, which will leave your face looking tighten and fresh all day. Shake well before use.

Suitable for: All skin types

My verdict:

Moisturiser:

The serum is a light beige in colour and has hardly any scent. Because of its watery texture, it makes the serum very easy for application. I use it as the following step after cleansing and applying my toner. You can feel how it seeps into your skin easily, prepping your skin well to apply the Moana moisturiser thereafter. Mine is of a combination skin type, where I feel dry on the cheeks but relatively oily on the T-zone, my skin drinks up this serum really well - leaving both the dry and oily parts of my face well-nourished without over-performing (the dry parts get hydrated and the oily parts doesn't produce any excess oil).

Soin Hydratant acts as an Intense hydrating boost for daily care.

How to use: Press 2 pumps of the moisturiser on your palm and lightly tap it on your face for it to be absorbed into your skin. This will help your skin stay hydrated and refreshed all day long, with no oily residue. Shake well before use.

Suitable for: All skin types, especially oily and sensitive skin.

My verdict:

After applying the moisturiser, making sure all of its goodness is absorbed and 'locked' into your skin; you will feel that bouncy feeling on your skin when you press your palm into your face and releasing it.

I choose to use the moisturiser at night (and the Renewal Day Cream in the day), and find it more than sufficient to keep my skin happy and hydrated till I wake up in the morning - which is a solid 8 hours or so! (Yes, beauty sleep is more important than you think! Always catch enough rest if you want great youthful-looking skin!)

Instead of piling thick night creams which can sometimes cause a bit of an irritation (especially for those who have sensitive skin like myself!); this light-weight moisturiser does all the work for you!

Tip: I also use a mist diffuser in the night when I sleep to help humidify the air. It can get quite dry during the winter in Brisbane, so the use of a diffuser helps double up as a 'side-kick' to your moisturiser, making your skin stay hydrated throughout the night!

What it contains:

New Zealand grown avocado and hemp seed oil, as well as kiwifruit and Harakeke extract is quickly transported into the deepest skin layers to help support regeneration, increase cell turnover and repair DNA.

Mamaku - a majestic Black fern, will help to increase firmness and decrease wrinkles.

Jasmine and rose essential oils will help balance your emotions and enhance your happiness

How to use: This step comes after applying your Moana Serum. Follow that by gently massaging Moana Renewal Day Cream into your skin with gentle movements until fully absorbed. Please use within 3 months of opening.

Suitable for: All skin types, especially for dry, dull and sun damaged skin.

My verdict:

I personally find a pea-size of the day cream good enough to cover my entire face. You don't have to use a lot, as I find it to be rather rich. Although the day cream is rich, it is not thick, therefore it still maintains that fluidity that allows it to be absorbed smoothly into your skin.

I noticed a visible brightening of my skin after introducing a consistent use of the Renewal Day Cream by Day 5. Since organic skincare is rid of all that unwanted harmful chemical ingredients, it requires some patience to see the results - faster for some, slower for some; depending on every individual's natural skin condition and how your skin reacts to the skincare when applied. But if you are willing to wait it out, it will all be worth it!

Tip: Good skincare products, I firmly believe, must also be paired with a good skincare routine to produce ideal results. This means diligently removing your make up before you go to bed, never hesitate about cleansing and remembering your once a week exfoliation as well as facial mask.

I hope this review has helped you to see how to have the best of the New Zealand's natural goodness nourishing your face while delivering results you love for your skin.
