Toxin-free Beauty Reviews: Antipodes Superfruit Antioxidant Serum

As a dedicated worshiper of acai berries, I couldn't be more excited when my got my hands on the new Antipodes antioxidant serum that is packed with berries extract! Anything that contains antioxidant with anti-ageing is my best friend. I'm a huge advocate on starting anti-ageing skincare routine early from around 25 year old. Let's put it this way, it's way too late to regret when you realise your skin starts to lose its moisture and elasticity! The task to reverse the ageing process is simply a massive battle (but not impossible - check out my previous post on natural way to future-proof for your skin here!). Of course, picking the right toxin-free anti-ageing products is the key as common toxins present in most beauty products such as mineral oil can actually clog your pores and lead to pre-mature ageing - not pretty, huh? Now let's see how this organic and chemicals-free antioxidant serum perform!

My verdict:

Toxin-free Beauty Reviews: Antipodes Superfruit Antioxidant Serum

♥ This Superfruit Antioxidant Serum is the first ever water-based serum I've used. The concept to me was totally fascinating as I found most of the other serums I tested thick and oily. A water-based one sounds so much like a refreshing idea!

♥ Inside the pretty amber colour glass bottle is a glass pipette dropper that dispenses this superfruit serum in its intense brownish berry colour. The first thing that completely blew me away was the heavenly sweet scent of berries that was so delicious yet not a tiny bit overpowering! It smells exactly like my acai berry smoothies straight from my smoothies maker - what a sensual treat!

♥ The consistency was fairly thin and runny which made applying on to my face a bit tricky the first time I used it. I spilled a few precious drops as I didn't expect it to be that watery. As per their instruction, I dispensed 4 drops onto my fingertips and gently rubbed it in to my face before moisturising.

♥ Once applied it felt cool and toning on my skin. Its toning effect was actually rather impressive as I noticed I got visibly smaller pores and hydrated looking cheeks upon messaging in the drops within seconds. At first, it felt a tiny bit weird as my skin felt really tight. But after I followed up with applying my moisturiser the tight sensation was pretty much soothed. It was completely mind-blowing with how quickly the serum got absorbed - it only took seconds for it to dry down completely to give a matte finish. That made me wonder if it meant my skin was so desperately in need of some moisture boost!

♥ After checking the ingredients as well as road testing the serum myself, I can confidently verify that it's purely water-based and oil-free. It doesn't give me the slightest feel of stickiness nor greasiness. In fact these days I simply forget that I actually have a layer of serum underneath because it feels insanely lightweight and burden-free which I adore!

♥ I've been using it consistently during day and night since 3 weeks ago and I was oh-so-pleased that it's worked magic! I feel it's refined my skin texture to make it more supple and soft. It's also slightly brightened my uneven skin tone especially around my forehead where it's usually a bit darker. It's hard to verify its anti-ageing power as I don't have many visible fine lines, but I can swear by its moisture boosting power to make my skin look hydrated like a ripe tomato with a naturally healthy glow!

♥ It almost serves as a primer underneath my mosituriser and makeup so that they go on smoothly and evenly. I found that my foundation adhere so much better when I wake up the next morning after using it before bedtime. On days when I ain't going out after work, I confidently skip applying primer on my face as wearing the serum makes my skin feel velvety without dry patches - that's a BIG win!

♥ Overall, it's a wonderful daily organic skin booster suited to most skin types. It works well day or night as an extremely lightweight serum. I can certainly see myself repruchasing this and would particularly recommend it to my fellow girlfriends here who tend to breakout easily with oil-base serums. I've been happily worshiping this ritual of waking up to a dose of delicious berry skin booster which is a pure bliss!
