Tomato Onion Paratha
Preparation Time: 10 minsCooking Time: 15-20 mins Makes: 6 parathas
Ingredients:(american measuring cup used, 1 cup = 240 ml)
- 1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka aatta)
- ¼ cup wheat flour (gehun ka aata) for rolling
- ½ cup onion paste
- ½ cup tomato pulp/puree
- ½ teaspoon ginger paste
- ½ teaspoon garlic paste
- 1-2 teaspoon chopped coriander (dhania)
- Chilli powder to taste
- Cumin seeds powder to taste (jeera)
- Salt to taste
- oil for greasing
Method:
- Combine the wheat flour and all the Ingredients (salt, tomato puree, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder coriander, chilli powder, onion paste) in a deep bowl and knead into soft dough using enough water if required.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal portions.
- Roll the roti into a 150 mm. (6”) diameter circle using whole wheat flour for rolling.
- Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and grease it lightly using a little oil.
- Cook the paratha, using a little oil, till it turns golden brown in color from both the sides.
- Repeat steps to make 5 more parathas.
- Serve hot.
