Eat smaller portions more frequently: Imagine that your body is similar to an empty glass that is sitting in the middle of an empty large bowl. Imagine that each meal that has enough nutrients for you to make it to your next meal equals a few drops of water. If only few drops are added to the glass, at a time, the water will evaporate back into the air leaving the glass dry, empty of any extra water by the next meal time. Now think about the portion sizes of meals that you are probably eating regularly, they are most likely equal to a few tablespoons of water, instead of the few drops you realistically need. Imagine how many extra days it will take for that water to evaporate when compared to only a few drops. All that extra water will never go away, because so much extra keeps being added to it, and the glass just continues to fill up with extra water. That extra water is the fat in your body.

Eat healthy foods: What you eat is as important as how much you eat. Going back to the image of your body being similar to the glass of water that evaporates quickly, if it isn’t filled with too much water. Imagine that junk food is equal to oil. If you add oil to the glass of water, the water may eventually evaporate, but the oil is going to hang around for a long time. Add more healthy foods to your diet.

Get in some regular cardiovascular exercises: Getting your heart rate going not only makes your body do good things like sweat, it also requires more energy, and forces your body to dig deep into its energy resources such as, fat, to keep it going.

Get a lot of sleep: Getting plenty of restful sleep has been proven to aid in weight loss. Resting your body gives it a chance to refresh itself, and work in a more optimized manner to get rid of things that should not be in your body (toxins and excess fat).
