"There Ain't No Way to Hide Your Lyin' Eyes"

By Davidduff

My title comes from the lyrics of a song by some group or other called, er, 'The Eagles', and no, me neither!  However, it is a rather good line and fits exactly the subject of today's sermon post which is on the multiplicity of 'lyin' eyes' - and tongues - and keyboards - that surrounded the shooting dead by Officer Darren Wilson of a big, fat, black thug in Ferguson, Missouri.  It wasn't so much a stream of lies as a veritable River Mississippi of lies.  They poured out of every orifice from the relatives of the dead man, every black rights agitator (and their white glove puppets) in the country and the level was raised to flood proportions by the lying liars in the American media.

All of this, of course, was aided and abetted by the President and his 'secret policeman', Eric Holder, the head of the grossly misnamed 'Department of Justice'.  To be fair, they haven't quite got around to manufacturing evidence - yet - but it is a relief that Holder is moving on because having been thwarted in two high profile 'investigations', Zimmerman and now Officer Wilson, I don't think his patience would last much longer.

Of course, despite a Grand Jury finding that Officer Wilson had committed no crime, Holder and his 'apparat' insisted on investigating him for Federal criminality.  Now they, too, have been forced to throw in the towel and admit that Wilson was totally innocent.  By inference, therefore, one can assume that there was a tsunami of lies surrounding the affair.  Colin Flaherty lists several of them at The American Thinker:

  • Hands up, don’t shoot? Lie.
  • Gentle giant? Lie.
  • Minding his own business? Lie.
  • Shot in the back? Lie.
  • Did not attack the police officer? Lie.
  • ‘Didn’t do nothing’ to the Asian shopkeeper? Lie.
  • Relatives did not try to start a riot? Lie.
  • Protests were “largely peaceful?” Lie.
  • National Guard would protect the business owners from looting...

At the Hot Air site Noah Rothman reports on Eric Holder's reaction, following the earlier Zimmerman debacle, to the failure this time of his department to find any evidence to use against Officer Wilson.  His words should send a shiver down the spine of all Americans:

“I think some serious consideration needs to be given to the standard of proof that has to be met before federal involvement is appropriate, and that’s something that I am going to be talking about before I leave office,” [my emphasis]

Better watch out, my American friends, 'if the right hand don't getcha then the Left hand will'!
