Last but certainly not least of the many, many (!) blog posts from our trip to Devon is our trip to the South Devon Chilli Farm!
When I realised that we were staying less than 10 miles from the South Devon Chilli Farm when we were on holiday, we simply had to visit. I’m such a spice fan, and we’ve tried a couple of their products before and really liked them.
The farm itself was a little smaller than I had imagined, but it was fun to walk around the couple of poly tunnels that were open to the public, and get a sense of just how much work goes into growing those little beauties! The farm started as a couple of people growing chillis in their back garden and has slowly expanded further and further, with the addition of a lovely farm shop selling all their produce and more, as well as a little cafe.
After looking round we ordered some lunch. Lee tried out a Scorpian IPA, brewed in Totnes which had a serious burn in the aftertaste!
I got friendly with the condiments on the table, and managed to try them all out with my lunch – and purchased a fair few afterwards in the shop too!
I went with a Mexican bruschetta which I really enjoyed, whilst Lee went for the special of the Chicken Curry, which was fantastic!
We then spent a long while taste testing in the shop before Lee had to drag me away before we needed to remortgage the house!
If you go, or if you happen to come across their products in farm shops across the country, I would highly recommend the Cherry Bomb Chilli Sauce. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
