I love how the entire house fills with the smell of baking bread. It is then that you know it is almost ready to come out of the oven. No timer necessary. The nose knows.
Around here, we love to slice the bread while it is still hot, slather butter over it so that it melts into all the nooks & crannies and then…enjoy. We can’t help ourselves. Before we know it, we have gone through an entire loaf this way.
Note: Make more than one loaf at a time so that you can enjoy one straight out of the oven and save the other for later.
